Takeaway SOS - Free service to save broke students

Apparently today (10 November) is the day students would have officially spent their student loan and will be out of cash.

Internal data from thousands of students using Loot, a digital current account, reveals that students are spending an average of £189 per week, with takeaways, eating out and alcohol accounting for 17.59% of all spending.

And with that level of financial discipline, no wonder they are broke so quickly after receiving a decent amount of money. The next student loan payment is not due until January either so students might have to rely on the old Super Noodles or find alternative sources of sustenance.

However, Loot and online food ordering platform, Hungryhouse have teamed up to save the day. They have launched a takeaway SOS service that will provide a one-off service from today until 14th November. Students simply have to follow @lootapp and tweet ‘Takeaway SOS’ #saveoursupper with a photo of their sub-par meal to be in with a chance of claiming a free gift card to spend through hungryhouse.
