Anything but grey hair! - Fear of ageing grips UK men

It seems like the idea of 'grey and graceful' is no longer a thing for UK men as new research suggests that 20 per cent of them regularly worry about their hair going grey.

The research, which was conducted by Just for Men, also found that 'feeling old' was the number one (35 per cent) reason why men between the ages of 25 and 34 feared going grey. Nearly a quarter worried that their partner would no longer find them attractive.

To delay or stop this ageing process, almost one in five (17 per cent) would give up beer for a whole year and one in seven would be happy for their football team to lose for almost a third of the season.

According to Alan Beak, head barber at Ruger barbers in Greater Manchester ,“these findings are no surprise to me. From speaking to men in the salon, it’s pretty clear that going grey causes them a lot of anxiety. In some instances, men are even fretting more about finding their first grey hair than over their jobs or relationships.”
