Sharp Guy Magazine's 10 brands to watch in 2019

There's always something exciting about discovering new brands. It gives you that feeling of excitement and anticipation as you explore what they've been up to before you discovered them and think about how things will work out going forward.

Over the last few months, we've had the pleasure of discovering some exciting new brands and we've put together a list of some of the brands we will be keeping a keen eye on to see how their stories develop in 2019.

Eison Triple Thread - 

Eison Triple Thread (ETT)is a fashion startup based in San Francisco that aims to reimagine the way men approach, interpret and consume made-to-measure clothing. ETT does this by sourcing, designing and and crating exceptional products and experiences that reflect the brand's core values of quality, accessibility and product education that resonates with a man’s innermost values and beliefs.

In 2018, ETT created an app that creates clothing for users based on their Spotify listening habits. 

Me, My Suit and Tie -

Me, My Suit and Tie is a subscription service for the modern man. It offers a convenient, affordable and smart way for men looking to complete their look. Each style box is uniquely themed, with limited edition accessories that you wont find in any stores. Boxes retail from £30 and subscription can be monthly, bimonthly, quarterly - or even just as a one off.

Arc -

Described by some as the 'Tesla of two wheels', Arc is a team of top engineering specialists with previous experience from the likes of Aston Martin, KTM, Ducati, Triumph, Jaguar Land Rover, MotoGP and Formula One employees. The team has also designed vehicles for James Bond movies, emergency rescue units and niche electric hypercar companies.

In 2018, Arc unveiled the Arc Vector, an electric motorcycle that many have referred to as 'the most advanced motorbike ever made. The Arc Vector features a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that has been taken to another level. The Zenith helmet has been designed with speed, sat-nav and ancillary graphics projected onto the rider’s visor so they can keep their eyes affixed to the road, Iron Man-style.

Method and Madness -

Method and Madness is one of the most exciting drinks brands on the market. The brand is hatched from the minds of the masters and apprentices at Middleton Distillery, offering a new taste from Irish whiskey history.

In June 2018, Method and Madness unveiled two new limited edition whiskeys, a Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey Finished in Virgin Hungarian Oak and a 28-year-old Ruby Port Pipe Single Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, highlighting its growing reputation for bringing innovation, creativity and fresh thinking to the art of making whiskey.


LABRUM combines a utilitarian approach with British tailoring and subtle touches to create a design recipe that is clean, sophisticated and unique. Founded in 2014, the brand is driven by a desire to create looks that are wearable yet idiosyncratic, and inspired by a lifetime of travel, exploration and pilgrimage. LABRUM delivers innovative garments with an uncompromising commitment to quality and design.

The word LABRUM is a latin term for ‘having an edge’, and this sits at the heart of the brand’s mission – to make honest, practical clothing rooted in simplicity, fit and a passion for detail.

Buscemi -

Buscemi is an American luxury footwear brand. Founded in 2013 by Jon Buscemi, he committed to his craft in pursuit of the most elegant sneaker— a union of his obsession with the most creative street style and the highest quality and craftsmanship in the world.  Shaped by intention, art and pure passion, these handcrafted items are made by artisans in Civitanova, Italy. Every style is made with the finest leathers and high-end embellishments such as 18k gold locks, hand painted edges and stitch applicate which takes 24 hours to construct.

Royole -

Royole is a California-based manufacturer of flexible displays that beat the big mobile phone manufacturers to unveil the world's first foldable phone. The manufacturer is heavily involved in sports and fashion technology, smart cars and other consumer electronics products

Cole Haan -

Cole Haan is a footwear brand that aims to combine the comfort and functionality of trainers with the elegance of formal shoes. With proprietary technology, Cole Haan's sleek yet stylish footwear supports a multifaceted and fast-moving lifestyle, providing another elegant option for the shoe collection.

#MERKY -  

#MERKY is the brain child of UK Grime Stormzy, including a record label (in partnership with Atlantic Records UK and Warner Music Group), a clothing line with adidas and a publishing imprint with Penguin Random House.

In November 2018, Stormzy released his own book, Rise Up: The #Merky story so far and #MERKY books will also publish two to three books per year, and form a home a new generation of voices. Future initiatives include an open submission competition for find new works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry and a paid internship with #MERKY Books.

Flashpack -

Flash Pack is an award winning travel company that connects solo 30-40-somethings for group adventure trips off the tourist-beaten track. The aim is to connect people based on what stage in life they're in, setting the stage for common ground. Add comfort-busting adventure into the mix, and the chemistry comes alive.
